I would like to use the Open Directory Project RDF dump on a number of sites to create a search directory / search engine. The category details the tools used to get this data onto a web site. [login to view URL] There is a way of parsing this date so that only specific categories can be displayed. This is the case on [login to view URL] where if you search, in that only the specific data for Scotland can be found. Also, I would like to build a directory that I can integrate results from [login to view URL] An example of a site that takes ODP data and espotting results is [login to view URL] The other requirement is that the title tag of each page changes dynamically and it must be able to be spidered by Google. If you type 'weekend break Edinburgh' in Google, then the site comes up. I'm not sure how they manage this and if they have pre generated a number of pages so that the site is indexed. I have a site [login to view URL] and I would like a search on this like on [login to view URL] but the site must create new pages for each search result. I need to check if the RDF dump can be parsed to run on asp with mysql. It may be that I need to run it on another server in which case I would possibly need someone to set up a dedicated linux machine. It could then be used with PHP and Mysql. The essence of this project is choosing the right software from the large number of vendors that make it and then being ableto follow simple guidelines on how to use it to make a search directory. I suspect that this can be done easily and so I would possibly like a few sites done at once. An example might be a travel directory, and if you visit [login to view URL] you will see that the ODP RDF dump is where they get their data from.
## Deliverables
Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased. I would want a fully functioning directory configured on a web server and I would want the programmer to demonstrate how quickly other sites could be built using the data. Building the directory will be very straightforward and I imagine that the integration of the PPC results will be simple too. The project will be complete once the directory results can be viewed in the title tag and that although pages are generated on the fly from the cgi bin, that the site can be spidered and indexed. That I cannot help the programmer with.
## Platform
We run win 2k, and ASP, and MYSQL. I am not sure if the RDF dump can run with ASP?
## Deadline information
We have another bid open at the moment for a mailing list. Successful parties will be chosen on their understanding of parsing the RDF dump using someone else's software. Knowledge of search engines and directories would be a distint advantage. I am not looking for someone to build their own directory, instead someone that can put my 3 requirements together. Please forgive the lack of personal response only there are many people to talk to. I will contact you if we are interested. Thank you very much
