We would like to use SnagIt 8 to do automated screen grabs from a web client using a vb.net windows service application. We have Snagit 8.2 and IE 7 or Firefox 2.0
The program should:
On start, read from it's [login to view URL] file:
1. The location of the screen grab list.
2. The directory name for saving the screen grabs.
3. The file format for the screen grab (png, jpg, etc).
4. The maximum time before timing out the request.
From here it should access the file in step 1 from above.
The file should be comma delimited like this:
google, [login to view URL]
RentaCoder, [login to view URL]
... etc
The app should then open a browser and load the first page. Once the page is loaded, the Snagit 8 COM should be called to load (in seconds). So it might look like
google, <[login to view URL]>, Success, 0.2
RentaCoder, <[login to view URL]>, Success, 1.2
save a picture of the web site and save it to the directory listed in item 2 above using the format defined in item 3. It should log its work in a file called "[login to view URL]" in the same directory. The log should include outcome, as well as time to The job should keep running even if one of the requests fails or times out (vs item 4 above). The [login to view URL] should capture the error code if possible.
Feel free to use iMacros (the free version) if it is helpful.
