I have just finished an application of my own that reads device GPS location and sends the information via email. Hello. I have written previously a service which gets the data bout current location regularly and sends it to back-end. It can be customized to record position each period of time. So I guess this should not be hard to customize (change backend interaction, add needed details) for your needs. Thanks!
