Need help getting started with Cross-Platform Multiplayer

I'd like some help getting started with developing a cross platform multiplayer version of my existing app. Currently, I am looking into using a Photon Cloud server to handle the real time games, but the documentation is fairly poor. I need help with setting up the lobby/game room interfaces and it must be compatible with cocos2d-x. I also need to be shown how to send data between devices once the matchmaking was successful. I should be able to take over from here at this point.
