Hi This is not a straightforward task. It is complicated and needs a lot of testing, it is not the first migration I will do. I will do this professionally and that means - setup TEST environment - setup QA environment - due diligence of all extensions - check if all extensions have a 3.0 version - if you do not purchase a migration tool then it will be done manually - update template - migrate in TEST - one one, copy all the QA for you to tests - once that is approved, schedule to migrate to PROD - document A lot of task, which takes time.
