Book cover art

To provide an illustration to be part of the front cover of an epic fantasy, superhero, adventure novel released in July. This book is the first of a trilogy, so further commissions are highly likely. The book is being released electronically and in print format globally. The artist will be invited to feature on the author blog with credits for the artwork in all digital versions of the book. The illustration is to be of a magical doorway (a split) opening at midday, looking out onto the arizona desert at silhouettes of 4 of the key protagonists in the book. these characters are part of a team of extraordinary warriors. No prior visuals have been created of these warriors although the author has descriptions for each. A full artists brief will be provided with excerpts from the book as appropriate. we are imagining a fine art style, but with a mature comic feel to the characters, a la "strangers in paradise". The image would ideally be provided as a vector for our book designer to include in his overall cover design. First draft of artwork would ideally need to be completed by 10th June Author is available via email, phone and skype to discuss the project. Copyright of the image will reside with cairns publishing but artist is welcome to use the image in their own publicity and portfolio for self promotion.
