Hi, Looking for someone that has the skill set to develop the following. Please read the requirements carefully to make sure you understand them I want to create either in Excel or another application that can tell me based off my products dimensions that I can analyse by (customer order) the (cardboard box size) required to fill each order and how many boxes it will require to complete the order. The objective is for me to add my (customer order) to the application based on Master data dimensions and the output tells me the box size required. I would like to get to 3 standard box sizes for all orders? But if you can get to two or less even better? I would also like to know the weight of the order and the cubed dimensions for shipping. I am in the process of capturing the data but to get it going I would need you to add example data for it to work. I'm guessing I will need the following information Product number Product description UoM Weight Length Width Height I'm assuming this will require either a very skilled VB person or code etc If you have the skill set please enquire Thanks

Hi Nikki. I have read and understood the project requirements. It is definitely a VBA based job and I have done a few very similar ones before. To get this done precisely, you shall need to have the product dimensions and most importantly weight of the material should be known as there is a weight threshold capacity of each box besides the physical dimensions. Hi: I need bit more clarification: I have two thoughts. Please let me know which is more aligned with your objective. Here's the first one: You need an Excel based app that will allow you predict the size of shipping boxes based on the order data. Please let me know if this is right? Moreover, you also like to know the cubed dimensions for shipping and weight of the packages box. When you say weight here, do you mean volumetric weight of the packaged shipping box or is it actual weight (weight of item+weight of shipping box)? The second thought is: Based on the history of your past order, you want to predict 3 box sizes that will allow you to fulfill majority of customer order in the future. Hi Nikki, This seems to be a problem of optiomization. This can be done in Excel. However would like some prior information (or available data) with dimention of products and number of 'boxes used' variable. This would help us finalize the equation which will calculate the actual number of boxes for you. The entire thing can be designed in Excel itself where the operator would put the values based on order and based on the backend calculation number of boxes would pop -up on screen. Hi Nikki, This a very interesting idea. Im not sure if it can be done though, will do some reading first. If you look at my profile this is the sort of job Im after. My first thought would be that we would need to use a database and not excel. It will give us more options. Hello, I have Indstrial Engineering degree, over 15 years of Excel xp and 5 years of Visual basic and VBA. I am advanced in both. I had 3 years of part time employement at bosch factories, done lots of Excel & VBA entegrated projects with data processesing. I had also lots of term projects at university with similiarities with your project. I am also fluent in Englis which makes me think we can more easily communicate.
