I'm looking forward to hearing what your story is about. What is the length and for what type of audience has it be written? I'm experienced at editing books, articles, and reports. Depending on the length, we may need to break it into phases. I generally read through it first without making any corrections just to understand it and discover who you are as a writer. The next step is to correct for spelling, punctuation, grammar. I develop a style sheet that has the names of characters, places, etc in your story and make sure that those are spelled and/or capitalized the same throughout. The next read through looks for structure and flow. This step is where we consult back and forth if any problems come up that need changing. I would never make significant changes without consulting you. The next phase includes checking for accuracy. Double checking any facts, quotes, footnotes, etc to make sure they are correct. Again, consultation before any correction would be required here as well. This is your baby and in no way would I ever change your voice. I'll make sure that any changes we make will not alter your voice in the story.
