War for peace
There’s this question that somebody asked me. why is it that people tend to hurt each other instead of helping one another? Juvenile isn’t it? It is one of the most profound questions I have ever heard from her. It made me pause and think about it. I told her people wage war from time to time, protecting their beliefs, protecting what they think is right. Then it hit me, there are things that just can’t be resolved through talks of peace, truces, treaties. Sometimes blood must be shed to end further bloodshed. America did that to Japan, they bombed the shit out of them, millions died, thousands hurt, thousands dying due to cancer caused by radiation from the nuke. People declare war for silly reasons, but the number of casualties aren’t. People die each day of war related thingies. Millions of land mines are scattered all over the world, people step on these every time, making them wish they would’ve swam on shit instead. Some countries take child labor to the extreme by training children for war and deploying them on the battlefield. And I quote “The old makes wars but the young has to die for them”, why would such atrocities ensue? Why can’t there just be peace? My view about this is, as long as there is disunity among people, quarrels will go on. The solution is a bit too radical, a world nation, where democracy will reign, one ideology and maybe just one religion. The thing is, it has been tried before. By the Nazis. Their conquest left hundreds of millions dead. Maybe the time isn’t ripe for one by then, nor is now, but the time will come that will force us to unite and forget all our differences, be it by race, ideology or religion. I may never live to see that day, but all I know is that war will be the cause for world peace.
