Code / module optimization of an App

In an existing app, which allows users to create handwritten notes, the write module has to be optimized or replaced entirely. The objective is a write mode, that provides a write feeling and typeface like the "Bamboo" App. So, the important features are: There must be no delays while writing! There must be no angular curves or lines! A smooth feeling while writing - even at very fast handwriting! The typeface has to look soft and smooth. The existing modules and functions should - of course - not be lost. The source code for the application (XCode 4.4.1) is made fully available. A rapid implementation is desired.
