Usually, doing it by hand takes a couple of days, and costs lots of money.

My own Game Engine, written in c++ and OpenGL in 2016

-Double-bounce real-time Global Illumination based on 3d texture volumes + quadralinear filtering (interpolation through the 4th dimension);
-Cone-traced shadows,
-Dynamic voxel reflections,

Develop a very uninteresting VR / Unity program the shows walls with cracks in them.

When I ran Igor's code on a machine with a good graphics card, it took my breath away with how good it looked.
