Fix a filtering function inside a postgresql function script

We have a postgresql function that selects from tree tables.

Now we also have a "filter" field telling if we should return data from all tree tables, or just one of them.

Therefore we need some sort of

IF filter = 'case 1' OR filter = 'case 2' THEN

SELECT ....

IF filter = 'case 1' OR filter = 'case 3' THEN

SELECT ....

IF filter = 'case 1' OR filter = 'case 4' THEN

SELECT ....

Since I'm not that good with Postgres I was hoping someone can have a look at this.
