Phone and Tablet app for Windows Phone, IOS and Android – Capture standard Barcodes using camera.

The preferred programming application to use is - phonegap (cordova) which will compile for all three platforms. For barcode scanning preferable use of platform from: [login to view URL]

The application must be ready for store availability and you must be able to assist in setting this up. The program must be commented with some detail; so that any programmer could do changes to its functionality. We want two versions for each platform a free version which allows a maximum of 100 scans in continues and manual mode whilst the paid up version will allow unlimited scans. If the user has reached a hundred scans the program must display price for the paid up version and the upload link.

Program Flow: -

Main Screen: Options list with the following options:

• Capture Barcodes

• Edit or Upload Files

• Settings

[1] Capture Barcodes: Choosing this option, another screen will open with form with following:

• Enable Quantities: Through this button user can enable/disable scanning with quantities, if disabled the quantity is assumed as one; if enabled app will track quantities scanned for every barcode; so after each scan a quantity box will appear for input and acceptance.

• Choose Description File: A dropdown select button, with list of all csv files available on ftp beginning with a D, user will choose one file from list, the file chosen must have following fields or else show an error, Fields: Barcode, Description, other fields file may contain are Cost, Selling Price, In Stock. If no description file exists, the program should continue and ensure that after each scan the user will have to add in the description of the barcode.

• Submit Button

After submitting form, app will start scanning bar codes, this screen must contain the following elements:

• When scanning a red line must indicate where the barcode is being scanned. A green scan with a beep will indicate a correct read.

• If error occurs while scanning (i.e. no barcode is found from the Description database CSV file or scan is not accepted) an input field will open where user can input barcode and description manually.

• When a barcode is scanned it must always search the database for the barcode/description and display same. If the Description database CSV file has cost or selling price it must display the selling price only.

• Exit button

Upon clicking exit button app will prompt an input field where user can input file name, and clicks save.

On clicking save, app will make a csv file with following fields:

• Barcode

• Description: Taken from Description File previously chosen by user

• Cost: Taken from Description File, if available

• SellingPrice: Taken from Description File, if available

• InStock: Taken from Description File, if available

• StockScanned: Quantity scanned for bar code, if enabled in previous screen • StockDiscrepancy: (In Stock – StockScanned )

App will then upload file with the name user chosen to ftp, if file already exists, append it, then come again to home screen.

[2] Edit or Upload Files: Choosing this will open list of all csv files available in ftp, clicking file name will open edit screen (described below), on right hand side there will be a delete button for each file, clicking which will delete file from ftp. All description files will be displayed with a D in front of the name of the file.

Edit screen which will allow user to edit any field in file, and clicking save will save changes to ftp and come back to main screen.

This is what the program will do.

It will use the phone/tablet camera to scan normal barcodes and reference these barcodes to a CSV file stored on the ftp site; which will have the details (description, units in stock, cost, selling) of the barcode scanned. It will then store these bar codes scanned to a CSV file on a FTP site.
