make php tasks work in background

we run a webgame that supposed to some tasks once their time is up
the issue now in the following :
- the script is programed to work with only page load , which will not execute tasks if the players are offline
- there is a security system developed in the queuetask manager of php which is to lock a certain table in db in order of preventing working on same row twice
the issue is that :
when we have over 8 tasks at 1 s ( very very very very small amount , the norma average is up to 5k per s ) then it system will bugged and start to work only 1 task per refresh which will stop the whole game
we need to find a method around this to make the requests always working , without causing any other issues .
