Croping tool that keeps proportion in diferent resolutions

I'm looking forward to an implementation of DisplayObject that can do the following for me:

scaling and cropping a picture

usage: I open the picture I have in my computer, insert the resolution I intend to use (like1280x800, for example) and then much like what you have here [[login to view URL]<wbr />flash/actionscript-3/fit-a-<wbr />displayobject-into-a-rectangle][1] it presents me with a preview of the final crop.

## Deliverables

The idea is simple, and you can easily get it if I explai using another flash based tool. This is a more complex one. So just use it for reference.

1- Go to <[login to view URL]> and let the flash tool load

2 - Open a picture on your computer

3 - Select rescale. It presents you the actual picture size.

4 - Insert the new intended resolution of the final picture, for example, the screen in my computer is 1280x800

5 - Hit enter (At this point, instead of resizing the picture,I want the tool to design a square around the image that represents the new resolution)

then the picture should auto-resize without leaving white borders, be it upscaling or downscaling. So it should occupy the whole new intended resolution, while keeping proportion.

I would then move the picture up or down, left or right. Make it bigger zooming at a point, but always constrained at it's fixed proportion.

When I hit process, it will crop the picture by the square that represents the cut (in my case 1280x800) and send the picture to one email account.
