Illegal Characters Remover

Many files downloaded by eMule (ed2k/Kad) contain, in its name, UniCode characters (such as Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hebraic, Russian) which are seen as "Illegal Characters" by English or other European-American versions of Windows XP's explorer.exe... Such unicode/illegal character strings appear as a "square" or a "?". Even when we download an eBook totally written in English, stupidly the files' names contain such unicode/illegal characters (it becomes, for example, "Java for Dummies -???? CRC Press ?? (Must Read).pdf")... This causes serious troubles when managing such files (Errors like: "Cannot access file"; "Invalid Path"; "Illegal characters"; "Corrupted file name")... Thus, need to get a "small app" ("applet") to automatically search (with recursive option) for such invalid names, and than remove/replace such characters from files' name, leaving only valid characters, in order to avoid problems when trying to access them... I need to allow: All English/German and Latin (Portuguese/Spanish/French/Italian) letters, lower and upper case [A..Z; À; Ã; É; Ê; ?; Ì; ?"; ?'; Õ; ?'; Ç] AND !; ""; #; $; %; & £; §; {; }; '; "; "; [American and European Keyboard] Here it is a superb link about UniCode - all characters are there!: [url removed, login to view] Other "tips and tricks" that help to solve this problem: *) Regular Expressions; *) Microsoft's .NET "[url removed, login to view]" and "GetInvalidFileNameChars" Methods
