Small Wordpress Theme Modification

I am building a website but the theme I use needs modification on its Portfolio page. There is an image gallery occupying 80% of the content area on the page. And all the text appear on the other 20% of the page. Please check the picture attached.
What I need is to be able to add only a bullet list on that 20% area, Gallery area should stay as it is. And I also want to be able to add tabs underneath this area.
I added the picture of what I want also. Please take a look at it.
It seems like is something more complicated than it look so please bid if you have good php knowledge.
Please bare in mind that I'm also a web designer, and I tried but couldn't manage to modify it. So this modification needs advance php knowledge.
