Need a file character length utility to run on win 2000 and 2003 servers
We need a program that will run as a service on a server to accomplish managing and finding files with illegal character sizes which is 260 characters
password protected admin side where the admin can control the character length policies and run various queries on server file names to find name and owner of the file
Service to run 24/7 on the server it will send user a notification of the illegally named file and tell them to shorten the name
we would like (if possible or not too complicated) to read from active directory the creator of the file and allow policy settings ie. different groups of people can store different file name sizes before triggering their policy limit.
We will help out on the gui side of this program but it is mainly going to be used as a utility to manage about 2tb of files so it will need to be fast and efficient.
If real time notification is too resource intensive then we can run a scheduler to find violation during an off time then send emails to admin and users of their illegal name lengths
I have the concept but need some help from experienced people to shape the scope and then build it.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
