In general, [login to view URL] will provide a mechanism to create, modify, rate, and share trips, excursions, and places. A trip is a collection of excursions and/or places over one or more periods of time, along a route. An excursion is a route within a trip that has a duration, distance, and can contain places. A place is a specific location on the map. We will represent these three entities on a Google map, along with pictures, ratings, and comments. A map builder will provide a graphical interface for creating and managing trips, excursions, places, pictures, ratings, and comments. The map builder will work similar to the way MapMyRun and Strava let you build and save routes. A search engine will provide a way to find specific trips, excursions, or places.
The website should be developed using ASP.NET's MVC 5 or greater. The data should be stored in Microsoft SQL Server. The mapping should use the Google mapping API.
