Brief Description of Project: \r\nKnowledge Management is a key factor in modern industries although it is poorly mastered in some areas. In the ,,good old times\" learning was a slow process and the innovation cycles have been slow enough to reconsider the experiences, to review and to re-validate them and to define new standards that could be hand over to the next project and next generation. Today the innovation cycles are much faster, the volume of new information that need to be considered is exploding and the time to consume new knowledge is much reduced. In our private life, those developments are respected and we are pretty used to the online availability of information and know how. Though the depths and complexity of information may be limited it is a fast and easy way to share experiences and to find easy solutions. Whenever you have a problem with any technical device you can be sure to find good answers how to fix the issue in the internet. The industrial environment is not yet fully adapted to those technologies and hence the need to build a new Knowledge Management Tool.\r\nThis project shall help to develop a concept matching the needs of the industry with the potential of new IT-technologies and concepts of Industry 4.0.\r\n\r\nIT Requirements:\r\nIn total the Tool would be a web based tool which would consists of a Main GUI where you can add new Knowledge in the database, Search engine to search for the existing Knowledge in the database and added Forums and chat room.\r\n\r\nI] Database:\r\nDatabase required for storing the following\r\n1) Username and Password\r\n2) Profile - Skill Sets and Interests (To be linked with Pinterest)\r\n3) Forum Data - Question and Answers\r\n4) Knowledge Base Information\r\n5) Chat Data\r\n\r\nII] Software Infrastructure - @ Client Level\r\n1) Web Based tool (HTML/CSS/Javascript)\r\n2) Attractive and Simple to use\r\n3) Compatibility with mobile and desktop screens resolutions\r\n\r\nIII] Software Infrastructure - Server Level\r\nServer would be required to do the following activities\r\n1) Interfacing with the Database\r\n2) User Management - Login, Session Management and Logout\r\n3) Processing uploaded knowledge documents into pdf and also their respective thumbnails\r\n4) Routing questions to users with correct skills in Forums\r\n5) An email system which users can optionally sign in to be notified of questions posted in their area of interest\r\n\r\nIV] Search Engine\r\nThe search engine should be able to do both semantic and syntactic search. Search should include the following\r\n1) Website content\r\n2) PDF Reports\r\n3) Forum questions posted by users\r\n4) Language agnostic to a certain degree\r\n5) User Profile searching - To match skill sets or interest
