Troubleshoot a Let's Encrypt SSL error on iOS devices

Looking for a LAMP sysadmin with extensive experience with SSL.

On a vps with Letsencrypt SSL certificate install i get a report with a email problem with an iOS customer. Maybe a coincidence but error occured after latest iOS update. See iOS security update info regarding SSL on [login to view URL]

Letsencrypt SSL certificate is not trusted by iOS.

iOS error "server identity not validated" on enduser phones. "The identity of [login to view URL] cannot be validated by Mail".
