App for teacher evaluation needed - E-Pro

To Interested Parties:

Knight and Associates is interested in developing an application for mobile devices that will provide leaders and teachers in education with the tools to record and store data for purposes of teacher evaluation in Washington state.

Background:

Knight and Associates is an educational consulting firm based in Washington State and serving schools in Washington, Oregon and Idaho providing leadership training and consulting to K 12 educators. Specificially, Knight and Associates specializes in the teacher evaluation process. This mobile app, through a familiar format, is intended to support the educators directly by giving them user friendly, efficient tools for gathering, maintaining and sharing information critical to evaluating job performance

Features:

For Principals and Teachers

• Knight and Associates branded Logo and color scheme

• Store documents, notes,pictures, and video of classroom observations

•Identify and input teachers to be evaluated and maintain evidence records for each individual teacher

•Store pictures, notes, documents in corresponding category for evaluation criteria and components

•Track number of evidence samples collected for each component of the evaluation process for each teacher

•Share evidence collected with teachers via e-mail

•Document observations in notes format and code and distribute the information to the appropriate evaluation criteria

• Store evidence on mobile device for off-line viewing

•Store evaluation information (i.e. teachers names, e-mails, class schedules etc.)

•Allow offline storage of calendar

• Photo, document and video sharing with teachers

• Tag photos with student name, location and time and add and store comments and notes

•Include an embedded host OS browser that will allow knight and associates to deliver future content without additional application development

• Multi-user capabilities

•Capable of managing login information for multiple users to accommodate device-sharing

•Set up a back end server to store all data

Technology

Application development The application should be a native app developed for compatibility with the iOS, Android and Windows platforms

Initial development should facilitate usage in the iOS environment. Once completed, app functionality will be cloned for the Windows Mobile and Android

platforms

Integration requirements

App data, documents videos pictures etc. will all be hosted on a back end server to be identified by the developer

Other Requirements:

The initial launch of the application will include all of the features outlined unless otherwise negotiated

The contractor will assist knight and associates with app placement in app stores under Knight and Associates owned developer accounts

The contractor will provide an unconditional service warranty to insure that the

application is error-free, and fulfills design standards for one calendar year from the date of public release

Knight and Associates will retain all copyrights and patents on the source code for the app

Responses:

Responses to this RFP should include:

Company Overview – provide a brief background, description of services offered and a list of former and existing clients

Technical Solution – explain what will be delivered and how it will be accomplished

Project Plan – include a timeline reflecting discovery, storyboarding, development, review, testing, deployment and post-deployment support

Cost Estimate – estimate the total expected cost and number of hours needed for completion of the application

Proposals will be evaluated on total price, number of hours for completion, timeline, quality and responsiveness of the proposal, merit of the proposed strategy, references and

qualifications of staff.
