Build a directory of colleges in the United States. Code and web design.
No scraping or data entry is required. I already have a database. I will provide a .sql file containing a sample of the database.
In your bid, please suggest milestones.
***Requirements
- LAMP stack
- Three unique template pages as described in next section.
- The website must be responsive, work on tablet/mobile, and pass Google mobility test.
- SEO friendly URLs (mod_rewrite?)
- I will provide example pages for design ideas.
- Original. Do not copy the design or text from other websites.
- I cannot provide access to my server. Please host it on yours so I can review each milestone.
***Unique pages
Homepage: Site logo. Search box (Google sitesearch). A map of the United States. When a state is clicked on, it goes to a State Page (see next step).
State Pages: A list of colleges located within that state. Each one links to a College Page (see next step).
College Pages: Show info about the college, sorted by category of the data. Map & streetview using Google (sql contains latitude/longitude). This is the most important part of the website and requires the most work since there is a HUGE amount of data for each college.
I wanted to add more details about the database that the site will use. There are just under 8,000 colleges. There are approximately 1,100 data elements for each college, so this is a large database. There is a second database that gives more info about each data element. Both databases will need to be used to build the College Page portion.
