Hello Jeesiva,

Because of the time sensitive nature of these projects I'm going to hire a second person as a backup. If you are still interested in performing the work associated with this bid, accept this job and we'll get started.

Best Wishes,

Jeffery

Web Searching/Data Entry Position

Due Date: 3 days after project is awarded (note this is shortened from 5 days in original posting)

This is definitely a simple job…but it needs to be done comprehensively and thoroughly.

Job Description

This job involves searching in [url removed, login to view] on the phrases in the attached text file, extracting information from each site, and pasting it into a spreadsheet file. Information extracted will include contact information, product information, website address, and so forth.

For each website's entry you will cut and paste the organization name in one cell, their street address in a second cell, their city in a third cell, and so forth. This format will need to be in a consistent order for all entries in the spreadsheet.

For each search, you should begin by gathering information from the AdWords ads, and then move on to the main search results. We are looking only for websites that have an individual or company selling their products (generally information based products such as ebooks, publications, audio or video recordings, etc.). Please do not include websites of catalog or other sites where products from many people are being sold, unless this is in addition to the unique products offered by the owner of the site. If you run across a page that doesn't appear to offer anything for sale, but is clearly relevant and has a mailing list - enter the site in the spreadsheet.

Most of the websites should have a mailing list. You will also sign us up while you are on the webpage. We will provide the email address to use.

Procedure

You will complete some sample URLs and submit your spreadsheet file for review via email. We will correct any deficiencies after which you will finish the job. Payment will be made after submission and approval of your final work product. Spot checks will be performed to ensure completeness.

We'd prefer you use Microsoft Excel for the spreadsheet, but if you don't have it you can also use the spreadsheet program in Open Office.

Initial [url removed, login to view] search strings:

"Law of Attraction" +"subscribe"

"Law of Attraction" +"sign up"

"the secret" +"subscribe"

"the secret" +"sign up"

After doing these searches you will be familiar with the types of sites we are looking for, and will search for others based on your experience with the marketplace. Please note the search phrases used.

Sample links:

These are examples of the types of sites we're looking for:

Notice how they offer a product, and have a mailing list that people can sign up for.

Some examples:

Searching on "Law of Attraction" +"sign up" in Google brings up many search ads and search results. So you would start with the ads at the top and right of the page and work through them. For me, the first one was:

Master Law of Attraction

Create Anything You Want In Life! Free Course w/ Stars of The Secret.

[url removed, login to view]

This goes to the following page:

[url removed, login to view]

This page has an email sign up form on it, so first you'd sign up for the email list. Generally pages like this (called 'squeeze' pages) are designed to get subscriptions and more info is found once you sign up.

Use this email address to sign up on pages such as these:

loa <at> [url removed, login to view]

If they also ask for a name just use: LOA

If asked to create a password use: 70loa70

Then collect the relevant information for the spreadsheet.

The following fields are in the spreadsheet, along with where they were obtained for this example:

Contact Name - Was found on the bottom of the first page

Company Name - Was also found on the bottom of the first page

Street Address, City, State, Zip/Postal Code, Country, Phone - This can take some digging but it is EXTREMELY important that it be found and listed. Sometimes it will be prominently listed. Other times you will need to look for an 'about us' or 'contact us' type page. In the case of this site, I had to click through to the holosync offer page ([url removed, login to view]) and then click on the contact us link at the bottom of the page.

Email - This can take some digging but it is EXTREMELY important that it be found and listed. Sometimes it will be prominently listed. Other times you will need to look for an 'about us' or 'contact us' type page. In the case of this site, I had to click through to the holosync offer page ([url removed, login to view]) and then click on the contact us link at the bottom of the page.

URL - Obviously, this is just the website, in this case: [url removed, login to view]

Products - Sometimes this will be easy to tell, but not always. For this site it is not easy. Probably each person, like the first lesson from Joe Vitale, pitches their own products. The only thing visible on the page is the Holosync CD's…so that's what I entered in the spreadsheet.

AdWords? - Just enter Yes or No. Yes means that you found the site as an ad in Google, no means you found it in the normal search results not as a sponsored link.

Mailing List? - Just enter Yes or No. Yes means that there was an email list to sign up for.

Affiliates? - There was no indication on the site that they offer an affiliate program.

Clicking the link for the above ad also led to a squeeze page. After subscribing it took me to this page: [url removed, login to view];src=gaw&ref=c-Manifestbiz. Note that there were links to 'contact us' and other pages on the squeeze page, but not on the page after it. It was important to start looking for spreadsheet info before signing up. I opened some of those other links in new browser windows, so that the squeeze page was still open in the original one and I could fill out the name and email fields.

Contact Name - Was found on the bottom of the first page, but was also on the page after the squeeze page.

Company Name - There did not appear to be a company name so I left it blank in the spreadsheet.

Street Address, City, State, Zip/Postal Code, Country, Phone - I was not able to find this information on the website, after checking all links. A second place to check is: [url removed, login to view] However, they used a proxy service when registering their domain name, and the info was not here either. Sometimes this information will be available in a website's affiliates section. That was also not the case. A final place to check is by clicking to order the product. Sometimes the shopping cart will have this information. That was also not the case with this site….so with all options exhausted I left this information blank in the spreadsheet. Only do this after this kind of very thorough checking and investigation.

Email - At the bottom of the squeeze page was a 'contact us' type link, but it led to a page with a form and no email address. In this case I got the email address by clicking on the Terms of Use link.

URL - Just the web address.

Products - The page after the squeeze page, which was a sales letter page, made it obvious that the site sold a 37 dollar ebook.

AdWords? - Yes, because it was a sponsored at in Google.

Mailing List? - Yes, it had a squeeze page with a mailing list.

Affiliates? - Yes, there was a link on the bottom of the squeeze page called 'Referrals' links like this can be called by other names like 'Affiliates'. That led to a page that showed they use clickbank as their affiliate program. Sometimes you will be able to see that they use a major affiliate program like clickbank. Other times it will not be clear what they use, in that instance just put 'Yes' in the spreadsheet. If you cannot find an affiliate program put 'No'.
