(1) DESIGN HOMEPAGE: 1. Add banner space. 2. Add and format headings and captions. 3. Install/integrate image presenter in the upper right corner with back end feature for administrator to change and add photos and captions. 4. Add a poll, which will only display the question in one line (answer choices in pop-up preferred if possible). 5. Add small month view calendar that is linked to our calendar page and format it to fit the appearance of our homepage. 6. Capture some numerical data from our site (e.g. new posts to forum) and from one other site (number of injuries) for posting on the homepage. 7. Add a space to paste excerpts from other parts of the site e.g. blog and forum snippets (pasting done in a corresponding Admin tool). 8. Add a login button.
(2) APPLY CSS STYLE SHEETS TO ALL PAGES: 1. Use CSS style sheets to give the website a modern corporate feel with a. Uniform appearance throughout site. b. Consistent eye-catching headings and readable fonts. c. Lots of white space. d. Use blues from: [url removed, login to view] 2. Achieve consistent look in all browsers and browser settings. 3. Editing and design of individual pages using CSS and limiting use of Tables. 4. Add banners and page titles to each page.
(3) OPTIMIZE: All improvement work should be optimized for search engine rankings and downloading speed (particularly home page).
