Hi there -

I am looking for someone who is familiar with diving, ideally with the PADI diving system and even better, someone with additional knowledge of marine biology (which is not required, but it would certainly help!).

Background info:

When learning to dive, one can add so-called "Specialties" to their diving experience and broaden their knowledge in various subjects and topics related to diving (examples of existing Specialty Diving Courses are "Shark Conservation" or "Thresher Shark Diver" or "Sea Horse Diver" etc.). For studying material, the student of the particular Specialty is given a presentation by their Instructor. For their presentation, the Instructor uses a so-called "Specialty Instructor Guide", which contains all relevant information about the Specialty Course. Generally, a diving course contains four sections:

1) Standards - 2) Knowledge Development - 3) Confined Water Dives - 4) Open Water Dives (see the attached file!)

Note: for this particular Specialty, section "3) Confined Water Dives" is NOT required.

The project:

- write a PADI Specialty Instructor Guide on "Kelp Forests" - it shall be called "Kelp Forest Diver Distinctive Specialty";

- attached is an outline showing exactly what this Specialty MUST contain;

- length: somewhere between 30-50 pages. I leave you enough leeway here - just present me your ideas/thoughts and together we'll frame it.

- Wikipedia is an excellent source - see here: [url removed, login to view]

- the core of this Specialty is section "2) Knowledge Development"

- section 4) Open Water Dives: here I suggest two dives - in dive one student divers should orient themselves, look at kelp, draw sketches underwater etc (be creative!) and in dive two student divers could be given a certain task, to identify certain types of kelp etc... (again: be creative!)

Of course: NO cheating - meaning, NO copying (your submitted texts must be 100% Copyscape etc. proof!). Citations are required (in academic format), also, if you add pictures/graphics/photos (which is HIGHLY encouraged that you do!) please include the exact info of the source! No violations of copyrighted material!

Don't waste time on formatting - this project requires content work only!

I plan to work with you on more topics than just this one - if I am happy with your work, we can work on many more specialty topics together!

So, the ideal candidate should have written something similar, something in the field of the aquatic realm, should know their way around diving for sure! Therefore, please send me some samples of your previous work, also, let me know please how you plan to go on about this project!

Please: ask questions! I am very open to ideas and suggestions - let's work together on this!

Please do NOT just dump your price and timing on me - I expect some communication before and during this project develops!

Thanks,

Alex.
