Fix WordPress installation: Linode, Apache/2.2.14 (Ubuntu), non-standard Virtualhosts

I need someone to log in to my Linode via SSH and fix a broken installation of WordPress that I tried to install on a new domain tonight.

When I try to access the site at the new domain, I get a 403 Forbidden error.

I believe it is an issue related to how virtualhosts are configured on this Linode.

The Linode is running Apache/[url removed, login to view] (Ubuntu) and other installations of WordPress are working well on other domains on the Linode.

I have set up the virtualhosts file for the new domain and issued a sudo a2ensite [url removed, login to view] command, but when I restart the server I get the following error:

/etc/init.d/apache2 reload

apache2: Syntax error on line 298 of /etc/apache2/[url removed, login to view]: Syntax error on line 1 of /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/[url removed, login to view]: /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/[url removed, login to view]: <VirtualHost> was not closed.

...fail!

I tried adding </VirtualHost> to the end of the [url removed, login to view] file and reloading, but then all my other sites on the other domains on this Linode become broken and I end up having to restore my entire Linode from a backup in order to get the other sites back up and running.

I need someone to identify the issue, solve it, and explain to me how to proceed in the future so that I can continue installing WordPress on other domains and configuring the virtualhosts properly so I don't run into these problems again.

I think Apache is configured to run virtualhosts in a non-standard way -- I am looking for an expert in this type of configuration.

Please apply if you think you can solve this quickly -- I need to get this resolved by Friday February 20 12 p.m. EST at the latest so that I have time to get the site up and running for a meeting in the afternoon.
