We are developing a process for grading and certifying certain collectibles. We need to put this information on-line so that multiple, authorized users, can enter and edit information and the public can do some limited browsing of the items database. Because the items will get assigned a set grading value we need to time-stamp entries and be able to know the change history of an item. Data records should never be deleted once created although a record could be modified, the original record needs to be retained but marked as out-of-date. There is no e-commerce tie-in or other interaction expected.
We believe in rapid prototyping as the most effective development approach. That is, to get a basic system working quickly and then allow for one or two cycles of revisions.
