Application Framework

My need is for a simple program using VB.NET 2005 and a SQL Server Express 2005 data file (stored under subfolder /data).

The database has two tables

XINI

[CompanyName][nvarchar(MAX)]

[CompanyAddress][nvarchar(MAX)]

[CompanyLogoID][int]

the CompanyLogo is foreign keyed to

XIMG

[ImageID] [int]

[Image] [varbinary(MAX)]

There should be a main form which has text boxes for Company Name, CompanyAddress and a Picture box to show the Logo. From the menu selec Tools->Options to show an options form where the user can change the three items. The image has "Select" and "Clear" where select calls standard OpenFileDialog for jpg,gif png or whatever

The user form has Cancel Apply and OK to abort, update and commit the changes. The changes then need to be updated on main form.

What I need is the global variables to be stored somehow (or recalled quickly from DB) to use throughout the app on several forms.

What I'm essentially after is how the mechanism works using datasets or whatever so maybe a little more comments than ususal?

Also open to suggestions for a better method, although not using built-in [url removed, login to view] XML because they are read-only or user specific?

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
