The goal of this project is to be able to capture audio from a video file and save the audio as an mp3 file.

There should be a very simple user interface with limited options. The goal is not about the interface but rather about the end product (the mp3 file).

The interface should include the following options:

1. select local video file (local browse)

2. select the start timeframe to capture audio

3. select # of seconds to capture (limit to 30 seconds)

4. include "capture now" button

5. display link to the downloadable mp3 file

$50 Bonus available if completed successfully within 10 days.

## Deliverables

General Interface Design:

-----------------------------

The interface should include the following options:

1. select local video file (local browse)

The video formats to be supported are:

QuickTime .MOV

Windows .AVI

Windows Media Video .WMV

Moving Picture Group .MPG and .MPEG

2. select the start timeframe to begin audio capture

3. select # of seconds to capture (limit to 30 seconds)

4. include "capture now" button

5. display link to the newly created mp3 file

(allow user to run or save file locally by clicking a link)

Other Considerations:

-----------------------------

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) Any components that need to be installed on the server in order to make the software function must be clearly identified and must be either open source third party components or be included as part of this product deliverable as works made for hire within the same bid price.

c) full documentation on how to install the complete working program must also be included.

d) documentation on test cases run and results along with verification that all bugs are corrected

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

## Platform

Ideally this will be a Java Applet to allow execution locally without requiring the user to install anything other than pre-installed software on their computer.

This is to be installed on a Linux web server probably using Apache and other open source server programs.

The goal is to minimize server load and do all file processing and conversion on the users local system while being controlled from a web interface.
