I'm looking for a way to gather existing information from web sites and consolidate it into a resource for consumers. The fundamental component of this online application would be to query and retrieve information from a web site in a way that safe and secure for the consumer.
A good example of this would be gathering bank balances. Suppose a consumer had three or four bank accounts and perhaps a Paypal account and they wanted to have a regular report on the balance of those accounts gathered neatly in a widget of their choosing.
The consumer would go to the web site I'm seeking to develop, supply a web URL, the username and password for these online accounts and then the system would automatically query these web sites at regular intervals and post the account balance in a simple widget. The widget could be a phone app, igoogle and likely as many other widget types to satisfy as many consumers as possible.
I need to know if it is possible to create such a query application and if you have the skills to do so. Also it is clear that this will require the development of widgets for a variety of online and mobile systems so you must have those skills as well.
This project is to develop a proof of concept where we are build queries of three banks and display the resulting data in a widget. Obviously this type of information is very sensitive and so this application and the data will have to be extremely secure.
