CSS table for website footer

Our website has a footer that currently has a set of links in two rows in a format like this - all of it is aligned with centered:

<li>link and anchor text</li>
<li>link and anchor text</li>
<li>link and anchor text</li><BR>
<li>link and anchor text</li>
<li>link and anchor text</li>
</UL>
Below those two rows of links, there are some images that are also centered.
There is plenty of page width to make a two-column table, with the images in the left column and the links in the right column in a vertical-list format
This is what I want: A simple two-column CSS table in which I can put the images in the left column and the list of links in the right column.
