Contest Brief

I'm a wildlife and environmental writer of 40 years standing but have a few ideas for childrens books that I would like some illustrations for please, so looking to commission some samples. Basically a farmer Jacko McGann in the 1940's lost his dog in a hidden cave in Irelands world heritage site The Burren, he went home to get a torch/candle to find the dog and discovered a series of amazing caves. On further investigation he found the bones of a long extinct brown bear curled up in the bear pit it had made for its hibernation 2,000 years ago and never woke. The Ailwee Caves now attract thousands of visitors a month. The book I have in mind will contain the story of the caves discovery and a CD and links to a song specially written for the project, the lyrics basically telling the story for visitors

The Ailwee Caves are a visitor attraction, I wanted the book to tell the story of how the caves were found and a little history of the landscape. There is a song telling the story which will be incorporated into the text plus a link to download the song and a CD in-side. I'd like the book to appeal to adults as well as children. Best wishes Sean

Hi, Thanks for all your efforts so far. Indrek, I couldn't see a link to reply to you directly sorry but, I was just expecting a simple sketch which would show me the style, verve and imagination of any artist wanting to enter.
