Contest Brief

We are Voltex Electrical, https://www.voltexelectrical.com.au, and we design, develop and sell electrical accessories around Australia and New Zealand.

We are looking to create a Quick Connect Junction Box, to solve a current frustration faced by many electricians, while also making their jobs faster.

Attached is a design brief. We are looking for someone to develop the concept into a 3D CAD model that we can prototype and develop further. You will deliver the CAD model, exploded view drawing, and an animation of the assembly sequence on the concept.

The winning concept will need to be innovative! Main things to keep in mind - QUICK INSTALLATION, and a SIMPLE design to reach the price point. Good luck!

Check out our other project: Quick Connect Electrical Socket!

Hi everyone. I have one last piece of input before the final bell on Monday. More and more electricians we talk to have described the situation where they are looking to make an extra circuit, but not as a T-junction. imagine one cable in one side, and two out the other, running in parallel to each other. If someone could model something like this up, it would be very interesting for us. Thanks!

Hi everyone, some interesting idea's in here, thanks for all your effort. We have dug deeper and found one important requirement from the Australian Standards, being that the knives cutting into the cable must be designed to take 32A. This is different to the quick connect electrical socket, where only 10A is needed.

Q : once the vertical cable connected with the horizontal cable, does it need to disassemble again? or we don't need to?

    Hello

To send all the information you are requesting it is better to do it by PDF to send the description and design details. then please abiliten the pdf format for the shipments. I also consider that the information sent is confidential since you need an innovative design, I also think it is very necessary to seal all the publications. #sealed

Hello everyone, I am in the process of changing the submission entry file type to PDF and MOV, I am not sure why it defaulted to JPEG or PNG as that is no help for anyone. Please make sure your entries are in PDF (CAD) and MOV (Showing assembly sequence on the concept). Also not, the project is now sealed so your entries are safe. Good luck! Stephen.

Will the winner have continuous freelance projects after the contest? Knowing that your company develops this kinds of products?

Hello Myrdal, we are constantly developing new products, so there is a good chance we will be putting more work on here. If you are good, we might choose to work directly with you instead of tending on freelancer. But it is not guaranteed that if you win, you will automatically get more projects.
