Contest Brief

Looking for a logo for my property rental business in the Cayman Islands: Featherstone. I came up with a perfect logo (attached) but it is a bit too similar to my friend's company logo so it needs to be redone. I want the F to be a logo on it's own but also the full Featherstone word..
I love the idea of the F being a bird or a feather. Needs to be sophisticated, not cartoony... It also needs to be legible but I have no objection to something a bit more funky..
