Contest Brief

We sell ink and toner online. We've been in business for nearly 20 years and need a modernized logo that simplifies our look and is more adaptable to web, mobile and email. Also, need a vertical and horizontal variation plus favicon for browser tabs. Plus variations on dark background and white or light background. I will provide an example of the old logo currently used on our website (www.ink4Less.com) as well as a logo I played around with trying to emphasize the ink for less with an ink drop, the number 4, and a less than or down arrow. This latter design is the direction we are trying to go where the logo is cleaner, more simplified and more adaptable to our changing online world. Feel free to work with this design or come up with your own adaptation from scratch. We prefer to work within the true CYMK color scheme, 2-4 of the colors. When complete, we will need access to original files ideally in Illustrator and/or Photoshop, any fonts/graphics, and high and low res versions saved as PNGs. Hopefully the Freelancer will also be available for future adjustments and possibly other future projects to create new applications of the logo/brand.

    Also, for the time being I really don't need to see versions of the logo embossed or put on shiny background. Our logo will be used on our website, social media, packaging, packing slips, and correspondence, Plus we'll need a favicon for web browsers.

    Just a reminder, we will likely use Cyan and Magenta in our logo color. However our challenge is we have a blue background in the header of our new website that has not been launched yet. You can see the sandbox at inkoutpost.com. This is a good place to test your logo in one of our uses.

    Thanks everyone for your submissions. Keep in mind, this is a logo, the font has to stand on its own in many ways, so no super weird fonts and really thin fonts (AKA roman). They won't reproduce at small sizes. And again for some of you, simple is better, don't go crazy with so many elements. Some of you are trying to splice together every version we provided as examples.

    Ink4Less is one word, no spaces. Also please stick with the CMYK palette. Please avoid syfy/space fonts. No Times roman fonts. Ink is a fluid, think of it as smooth and round. Design-wise, simple is better. Thanks
