Design some artwork for a CD Album for a Famous 80s artist

Contest Brief

We need a CD album cover for an album cover for the artist "Cutting Crew". They had a number 1 worldwide with the song "I Just Died in Your Arms" in the 80s. A client is putting out a new album from them where they have re-recorded their hits with an Orchestra. We need artwork for the FRONT cover of this release.

What we are NOT looking for is for someone to get a load of clip art, arrange it and drop letters on the top. We are looking for some art as the centrepiece. We will add the TEXT above the image later on. So NO TEXT on the design please. The image provided must be fully usable to. No licence fees. Ideally your own creation.

CONTENT: For this we are open. We are looking for a piece of art. It may be something that you already have which is fine. Something that an Orchestra may inspire. We don't want simple photographs unless they are stylised. It is fine to use imagery of an orchestra (violins, flutes, brass etc) but fine not too. But again stylised (for example Adobe Stock 222170369 of a violin is interesting - but too much of a simplistic component). If you want to use musical symbols (Treble Clefs etc) then it is a possibility but only if they are highly stylised.

COLOUR TONE: Here some colour / style references of designs and styles we like (please do not do direct copies of them - this is more for tone).

We will be very engaged in the design process and provide lots of feedback when the designs come in.

The deliverable are the front and back cover and record label in PSDs in FULLY editable form, with all layers.

      Hi Olena. I was speaking of the image that shows as the first. It's the other lady underwater that you won with? I also used it with 14 other resources and so many treatments. Not really the same is it? Try reverse image my entry. It'll only bring up this contest. I guess, congrats on very little work.

    Dear CH. I know others implored you to check image use and copyright issues early on in the contest. Unfortunately, this contest has attracted a large use of licensed images or copyrighted images that have not been declared in entries. This is not to say that the freelancer doesn't have the license or rights to use, yet without the declaration it's unclear. You shouldn't need to, but you might want to do some reverse image searches as advised earlier by other freelancers.

    #116 This is a stolen image, I suppose you will not have problems with copyright since it represents a cover of a disc, it is a shame that you do not choose original copyright-free designs like the ones I have presented

    Just a point of clarification: your brief states - " We need artwork for the FRONT cover of this release." However at the bottom you go on to state "The deliverable are the front and back cover and record label in PSDs in FULLY editable form, with all layers."

    So, what are we actually running up for you here - just the front cover art as initially sated - or front, back and disc label and, if the latter, is this all for the same price?

      In fact..... We ALWAYS have album cover projects. So even if it is not chosen for this project THEN it may be useful for another project. Especially if it is adaptable.

    Work from the Cutting Crew? That's crazy to believe. I do want to display some of my existing stuff which inclines towards colourful, abstract and somewhat psychedelic theme. Not specifically has to do with orchestra or involves any musical instrument in artworks but just want an approval if you guys would welcome that?
