Contest Brief

Project Title: Logo design based on an existing logo design idea - no clip art please!
Logo Idea that client likes: see attached

Background:
Our team ran a contest to design a new logo for this company but chose a different logo & designer than the one that provided this logo idea.
After some significant changes in the company’s strategic direction and decision makers, we really want the logo - for at least this Life SEQ group, to look like the “heart” logo here.
The designer withdrew the design and I have not been able to get in touch with them to get them to quote us to use this logo. I am now afraid that this logo - or some version like it - will be used by another company.

Contest:
We are looking for a designer to come up with an idea for a logo that looks enough like this that the team that loves it, still likes the new logo but is NOT so similar that it looks like this exactly if this were to be used elsewhere. We want something original, not clip art or an exact copy.

What we’d like to keep:
The idea of a “heart” - we believe our vision of genetics medicine works well with the idea of “genetics with a heart”
Four color (we have 4 divisions) “loop” idea
We also like the idea of negative space to show the heart rather than an actual (‘red’) heart
NOTE: Company name is Life SEQ - Life should be upper lower case, SEQ should be all upper case. There does not need to be a hyphen.
With the colorful "mark"/"icon"/image, we prefer the company name in dark gray or a darker version of one of the colors in the image
Logo should also work in black & white - although contest does not require that to be shown

What can change:
Fonts, colors, variation in layout (vertical rather than horizontal), etc.

Project Specs:
Final logo files delivered to include:
Vector-based files - Adobe Illustrator
.jgp / .png / .psd and .PDF
At least one version should have a transparent background
Font files and colors (RGB / CMYK and/or Hex)

Project award may also result in additional work with this consultant, client and/or creative agency.
