Contest Brief

It really important you have a basic understanding of tools. (wrenches, sockets, sprockets, gears, etc) I already have a basic inner workings of the tool, with some changes that need to be made. The gears that turn the sprockets need to be larger for more torque, with more aggressive teeth. From sprocket to sprocket will be 6" long and 3/4" wide, , the solid round bar on the end is roughly 2.5" long

On top of that, I will need a housing design to incase the tool

Slight change of plans. Other contestants gave me an idea. I want to eliminate the forward sprocket and chain all together, then add a 3/8" drive to the backside of the rear sprocket. I will use the drive to attach regular sockets. And I wont loose torque between the 2 sprockets.

Hello few questions: Is the tool intented for specific size bolts, or you want to be able to adjust different heads on it? Is the purpose of this design production? If you doing something experimental, we can simplify. Do you need a holder? Have you considered non metalic casing?

  Yes the tool will be specific sizes, ranging from 1/4" to 1" diameter. So they will come in a set, but thats further down the line. So the tool will not be adjustable. I will also need a casing for it, what the finished product will look like.

I added a few pictures of a ratcheting wrench, this tool essential does the same thing, but its not powered by a drill. the housing that I'm picturing for my tool will look relatively similar. It will cross of the tool in the pictures and the one I listed below in the comments. I hope this kind of gives you a better idea of what I'm envisioning.

Sorry the housing needs to encase (not increase my fault) the tool, (sprockets and gears). The sprockets would roughly be 3/4" wide, exact diameter isnt important. The gears that turn the sprockets need to be at least triple the size of the current picture. This tool is designed to be put in the end of a drill and to tighten or losen bolts. So it needs to be aggressive enough to generate the torque needed. But not to the point it makes the tool too bulky
