Contest Brief

We're looking for a fresh, more modern look, something which isn't based around WHMCS, we're ready to do our new back end in-house, however we need a new user interface for our site, something easily expandable with plenty of customisation.

We're looking for something that appeals to professionals and also to the casual and the young users without being distasteful.

We will unfortunately require a new logo to go with this, as Mojang have recently trademarked the creeper face we currently use.

We have permission from Sphax(PureBDCraft) to use his graphics in any design needed for showcasing our products

More information is available on request, we're hoping to find a designer for repeat work, with good initiative as, unfortunately our full time staff, me included, are not very creative, I'm sure you've all seen "coder graphics" before :)

Clarification; I will be leaving it so everyone has equal chance (As a contest), I'm not going to limit my chances of something amazing coming from the talented people on here, my hope is whoever wins this we'll keep on some kind of retainer for our future designs, we have 3 other brands which we want to refresh their sites and logos, then we have control panels and similar, so we expect a mockup here, once accepted changed into a design, and we will be contacting you for our other brands (ColoBurst and a few others), and our control panel etc.

WE DO NOT WANT YOU TO DESIGN THE WHOLE SITE BEFORE BEING CHOSEN AS A WINNER, HOWEVER ONCE YOUR DESIGN IS CHOSEN, WE WILL EXPECT A SITE TO BE CREATED FROM THE CONCEPT SHOWN.

(Note; I originally thought freelancer only allowed 1.5k as a max prize! Just noticed I don't have to use their slider :$)

I'd like to add, nothing is expected from the concept, it doesn't have to be a working site, I want to see an image with the kind of design you'd make for us, that is all, then I'll accept yours and talk to you about an actual contract for the work.

It's come to my attention a lot of people are completely unable to read the big block of caps above that makes it clear, or any of the rest of the contest which says no back end is needed at all, and that we only want 3 pages in essence...

I'd also like to note, if I had the time, I'd just shop around normally, but the nice people from Mojang's solicitors have somewhat given us a deadline and I'm in the middle of overseeing a data centre build, it's not ideal, but I need the right designer.

This is the last attempt I try at clarifying what we want before I give up on freelancer.co.uk

DO NOT SPEND TOO MUCH TIME, JUST SHOW ME WHAT YOU WOULD DO FOR US THAT IS DIFFERENT FROM THE GENERIC TEMPLATES WE NORMALLY GET OFFERED!

I'm not a graphic designer i'm a programmer but here's the ideas I had:

creeper:
sneaking up on someone
sneaking up from all sides
sneaking up like people in a multiuser computer game

menus: mouseover: someone moving along ground from left and right towards centre of button where a third person is
mouse click: person in centre explodes

  Actually nope regarding all the above, Creeper is a word in the English language, so really hard to trademark, their assets are denied use for ANY commercial reasons, and they recently trademarked the face of the Creeper and are persuing a "Micky Mouse" style control, so any variations of a Creeper's face is trademarked.

  Ah, sorry! I was slightly mixed up there
  You can use the creeper face, just not in a logo. Since your company is called creeperhost, surely a creeper is descriptive of the company, thus meets their requirements. It's fine unless you use it in your logo.

  I like almost any design done right honestly, I do like our current one, however it's dated and the new content we need feels like it's being hacked on, I also like http://www.rapidswitch.com 's new website, so it's a mixed bag, I think I prefer win8 over apple but not by much.

  Honestly, I want to, but not until I see some actual quality, I've only had one submission thus far, and it was... Not good at all, the moment I see something come in which inspires my confidence in the community available, I will tick that guaranteed box.
