Goal: Improve QA process for early detection of regression, optimize regression testing cycle & improve readability of automated test case reports

Problems:
1. Manual regression testing cycle is taking 1 month reducing the QA teams ability to catch bugs early that are caused after first regression cycle
2. Integrate testing in existing Jenkins CI/CD environment to catch regressions during development
3. Improve & optimize automated test report for all teams

Solutions:
1. Automated manual test scenarios to reduce manual regression testing cycle from 1 month to 1 week
2. Integrated automated test runs into CI making sure regression are caught at an early stage. I.e. Smoke test runs on each PR, Sanity test daily & full regression test twice a week. Run a single test on Jenkins with auto dependency resolution.
3. Improved & optimized report by highlighting test steps, verification's, sections, debug logs etc. Ability to show/hide logs as needed, Screenshot logging on fail

QA improvements for web application

Goal: Improve existing system by analyzing the current process to performing QA.

Identified Problems:
1. Manual regression testing cycle time got increased to 2 months due to minimal amount of automation
2. High maintenance of testing code due to use of static programming
3. High debugging/failure reproducing time due to lack of required information in report
4. High AWS cost & SDLC time due to long execution time
5. High download time and size for test data
6. High flakiness due to unhandled scenarios
7. Hidden defects in application
8. Application performance regression was measured by collecting data on csv & manually analyzing data

Solutions: Refactored repository code to mitigate above problems.

QA Lead Automation Engineer

Goal: Automated system to catch application performance degradation in development stage there by improving system/process efficiency.

Problem: Currently every week a tester has to download a csv from s3 and manually generate graph for the data in it & verify if there is any performance regression.

Solution: Refactored code to collect performance stats from csv to mysql database and used Grafana to visualize data as well as provide alerts on any performance degradation above 20 %.

Achievements:
1. Tester's time to analyze performance stats weekly got significantly reduced by 95 %.
2. A single Grafana dashboard provided a way to visualize data from various git branches, So no more of downloading multiple csv's to compare data.
3. Automated alerts are provided, So tester don't need to go and check if there is any performance degradation hit above 20 % (Adjustable as per need).
