I have been working as a freelance web designer and developer for my own company since 2007 which has fortunately allowed me to hone and learn new skills whilst working on a wide range of different projects for small to medium sized businesses. I have traditionally used LAMP environments to develop in and have always used PHP & MySQL for the business logic, as such I have gained good experience with installing and configuring Apache and MySQL servers, then installing PHP and whatever else is required to get the web server up and running. My front end JavaScript code is currently developed using jQuery but I previously used the MooTools framework for most of my JavaScript until development on this project started to stagnate. Also I now only responsively design websites and most of the large frameworks (I have experience with Bootstrap, Foundation and Kube to date) include better integration with jQuery. All of my current web development business logic (PHP) uses object orientated methodology and most of my front end code does as well. I firmly believe that classes should be simple and only perform well defined functions where possible. I also have extensive Photoshop, Illustrator and some InDesign experience which helps when designing and demonstrating projects to prospective clients.
