Todays Date Based Screensaver

I would like a screen saver which shows a different image each day depending on the date. I should be able to configure the screen saver to start on a given date, and then each day the image it displays is different, following a sequential pattern, not random.
There would be 40 images, and after the 40 days, it would begin at the beginning again.
I can provide the images, or you can-- if you feel inspired to. The images would reflect the "thinking about my purpose" section of the "Purpose Driven Life." This is a Christian book.
The screensaver should be a single .scr file, in the standard Windows screensaver style. The user could configure the screensaver by starting it's cycle on their own specified date.
Potentially there would be scrolling of this image, or some other effect.
I would be satisfied with a text based version if it was easier. Instead of images, text could scroll, waver, wiggle, and shake around the screen. :)
Each day has three sections: Point to Ponder, Verse to Remember, and Question to consider.
