TASK: use two short (30 second) sample pieces of interview footage (two presenters to camera) that has been shot on a Panasonic HD camcorder in our home studio to work out best Premiere Pro colour correction and other effect settings that can be used by client in PP CC 2014 for future editing of footage shot in the same studio environment. ANTICIPATED STEPS: + Produce 2 or 3 draft options for colour correction effects (+ other effects if required) settings that would work well for both video pieces (identifying all effects and effect settings used for each option) + Gather client feedback on these options + Create 1 updated preferred option using client feedback + Gather client feedback on updated preferred option + Create final effect option with itemised list of all effects and effect settings used Issues to be addressed include: - Liven up dull washed out/grey footage - Want a more filmic look - Want more subtle softness and evenness on presenter skin tones ** We are looking for video editing support on future larger projects so this will be a small test job to find suitable candidate. **

Premiere Pro, especially 2014 is definitely not suited for serious colour work (talking about subtle skintones), and since I've updated to 2015.3 our files won't event be compatible. If your client cannot update to the latest CC version, I can offer another way of color grading your job. I can color correct and grade footage in DaVinci Resolve and export custom LUT for your filming environment. You can easily apply it in Premiere afterwards. To get the best results, though, I'd recommend grading and matching every single shot or at least the different angles/zooms. Even shots in the same lighing, same camera but with different lenses/zoom settings or another angle will have different brightness/contrast.
