The English-Spanish Translator will be responsible for translating 2,000-3,000 words per day, updating of Translation Memories, and organizing folders by determined filing systems.
The ideal candidate is a native Spanish speaker and native or near native in English with a background in linguistics, or specific domains pertaining to, but not limited to: medical, educational, law, or marketing. Full training and support will be provided for the use of CAT tools and procedures, but entry level knowledge is strongly desired.
As an English<>Spanish Translator, you will
Provide meaning for meaning translation; never omit, embellish, or otherwise change the meaning of the source document.
Continuously improve vocabulary and specialized knowledge of subject matter required for various clients, e.g., medical, legal, social services, etc.
Continuously improve knowledge of industry-standard tools, especially computer aided translation (CAT) applications and production software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
