An Excel list with about 800 expression has been mostly translated with translation engines. An Afrikaner mother tongue is needed to check and improve the translations and grammatical forms. The list contains also Dutch equivalent, which can be ignored for the time being.
The following guidelines are important:
- both u (polite) and jou-forms (intimate) are required where necessary,
- for verbs present and past time (gee, het gegee) shall be checked or added
- for nouns, singular and plural forms shall be given (kat, katte).
- English words used in Afrikaans shall be avoided, (old-fashioned) pure Afrikaans terms are preferred
