I need a proof of concept application to visualize a facility in 3D. Place and move object on the scene controlled by second user.
Example: Visualization of a parking lot
App1-User1 : (Viewer) First application displays a empty parking lot. User1 can move or fly over the parking lot freely. App1 listens to network for commands to place cars on the parking lot.
App2-User2: (Controller) Second application displays available car models. User2 uses the App2 to send command (over network) to App1 to place selected car to the scene. User2 can select car model, location, height, direction,bearing etc. No need to have a piece of art UI just select model and properties and add and remove buttons.
-No need for interaction between objects or users
-No need a polished UI
-No need for extra extra detailed scene
-No need to follow "parking lot" example, you can use the "school and the children", "Stadium and the football players", "market and the customers", "airport and the planes" what ever models and scene you already have.
-Some flags, winds and some lights on the scene will be eye catching.
-App1 and App2 must be ruining on separate computers and communicate over TCP-IP
-Facility(Scene) will be loaded from a folder, replacing the folder content will change the scene.
-Apps will have a folder for object models, Adding models to folder makes that object available for the scene
-Apps will listen a network port or connect to a server for managing object on the scene
-Send command to cars to move to a new location.
-Send commands to scene control like to turn on/off lights, change the direction of the wind, change the time of day (day / night / sunset), change weather etc.
-Update object positions if the move or change positions.
-Viewer app must be adaptable to 3D Reality headsets like Oculus or Vive
Platform : I prefer Unreal Engine 4 but I can accept Unity 3D if it have advantages that you can spot.
