Folder Watcher class can do this trics. Microsoft provides folder Watcher class as a listener which listen a mentioned folder. As soon as there will be a new file it will read and will take action accordingly. I will use this class to listen folder and will pick jpg file. Next step where I will use itextaharp library to create the pdf. Can you please send me a sample pdf and jpg file ao that I can check and confirm you. Will wait for your message. Thanks

Does this must run as service or it can be simple batch script? For example, I can make simple script that will do what you need. It will scan folder and subfolders for jpg files, convert them to pdfs and after conversion is done it can move jpg files to some "processed" folder or simply delete them. Script will use free command line jpg to pdf converter. It will run in loop so it will detect if there will be new files. So simple. Please contact me if you're interested.

The application will have below features * The main window could be hide. * There will be an icon at the right bottom corner of the screen, like "Audio" icon of windows system, when right click on it, there will be menus could be selected. * The program will monitor the folder, when a file is created, the program will judge it whether it's jpg format picture. * The program will use iTextSharp library to generate PDF files. An issue maybe encountered if we do this: * If more and more jpg files put into the path (monitored path), the program will need to take more time to compare file names to find new added files. So after it run several months, it may become slow. So do you think we should make a input folder and a backup folder? After some pictures are converted, we backup these files to the backup folder, all structures of sub folders are the same. A windows desktop application is better than windows service because: 1, An service only run at background, Windows desktop app could run at background or in front end, the user could interact with it. 2, An service is complex to upgrade, you need to uninstall it, then re install it with new version.
