That's why I bid. but I have below questions:- 1) what's the type of the file? .doc , .docx , .txt or anything else? 2) can you send me 1 sample file? 3) I think, the file has so many lines of text. From that which one need to select? first word from that - for renaming the file. 4) are you sure that - first word is unique among all files. otherwise it will be impossible to renaming the file with same name. I would like to write a small app to rename your files. I would deliver it in a day then you can place it in the folder that has the files then it can run through them. I would need a few of the files just like five for testing the app then when I send it to you I would suggest you create a folder with a few of the files that you can test the app with then if you are satisfied you can run the app in the main folder to rename the rest of the files.
