Build a VisualFlow to auto select child record type based on parent record type while creating new child record from the related list

Hello There, As you have mentioned you want to save user's time by skipping record type selection on Opportunity as they have already done that while creating Account or creating opportunity on existing account. This can be done using Process Builder and I can automate auto selection of the record type when creating Opportunity from Account related list. Hello, After going through the project description and additional note that you added later, I can tell you that the desired feature can't be delivered using configuration in Salesforce Lightning. URL hacks that wre used to do such things in classic are not feasible in Lightning. To achieve the desired feature a new custom Lightning component needs to be developed. This is what needs to be done in Lightning: * A Lightning action has to be added on the Account detail page (top right) * This Lightning action will launch the custom component * Custom component will have form to input data (with pre-filled record type field) and three buttons * 'Save' button will create new Opportunity records with record type based on Account records' record type and redirect to newly created Opportunity * 'Save & New' button will create Opportunity record and refresh the form to create another Opportunity of same 'record type' * 'Cancel' button will redirect to the account detail page from where it was opened. Please note that this will require you to increase your budget. We can discuss about the content of the component, it's behaviour, budget and timeline (1-5 days). In case, you can't increase your budget, then please do me a favour by closing this project, as this can't be done using configuration alone. I would go for a custom button on the Account page. The button would take the record type and automatically select that record type for Opportunity record.

Hi! I was taking a look at the requirement, but a VisualFlow is not needed as you can achieve this by creating a quick action - which is going to be faster, also for you it means spending less money :) If your org has less than 5 record types, it can take 1 or 2 hours of work.

Hi Have worked on lightning component development and familiar with Classic and Lightning experience. I've played several time around opportunities, accounts, contacts etc and their relationships and related records. There is one project in my current Org on which I have worked few months back and we call it "Project Arsenal". This project defines the process of renewing an opportunity based on the Terms duration a user has subscribed for. So while renewing an Opportunity we define what are the Product line items to be added, what are the Assets to be linked with line items with their quantity and pricing, which account to link with the Opportunity and defining the layout for the opportunity based on the Account type. I did this in both, Salesforce Classic and Salesforce Lightning experience. Here are my skills- APEX, Visualforce, Lightning Component, Trigger, SOQL, Workflow, REST API, Deployment, Data Loader. Note: I am new here and my primary focus is to make good network for my good future.
